Valmar Support Services Inc is a not for profit service which is managed by a committee and is funded by the State and Federal Governments.

Who Can Access The Services?
Services are offered to the frail aged and younger disabled with moderate or severe disabilities and their carer’s. We aim to help people live independently at home for as long as possible. Community bus transport and other services such as equipment hire are available to members of the public with specialised needs if there is spare capacity.
Services Provided
Meals on Wheels
Hot meals are delivered to homes Monday to Friday, whilst Frozen Meals are able to be purchased for the weekends at any time from the office. A large variety of choice is available.
Respite Care
Respite Care is the provision of ongoing relief to carers of people who have a disability or who are frail aged, suffer from dementia or have a severe chronic illness.
Respite care is also available when family carers plan a holiday or are called away unexpectedly.
Respite care is available in the Lockhart and Urana Shires.
All HACC Services are Government funded and due to limited funding, services are prioritised. Some clients may be placed on a waiting list.
Centre Based Activities
Weekly Day Club is held every Tuesday at the Uniting Church Hall and offers the opportunity for social contact. Transport to and from Day Club can be arranged and lunch morning / afternoon tea is supplied for a minimal cost.
Weekly Craft Club meets every Thursday. Morning tea is supplied and transport can be arranged.
Equipment Hire
Equipment is available to anyone in the community who may require short or long term use to assist with independence and personal care.
- Walking aides– wheeled, crutches, sticks, frames etc
- Bathroom requirements –toilet chairs, raised seats, shower chairs and stools, bath supports
- Bed sticks and frames
- Wheel chairs, high backed chairs.
Home Modification and Maintenance
Valmar Support Services Inc assist people to remain in their own home safely and securely to avoid inappropriate or early admittance to a nursing home/hostel. Labour costs can be subsidised for the following, but is dependent upon funding priorities.
- Rails in bathrooms and toilets
- Hand held showers
- Ramps
- Modifications to steps
- Minor maintenance and repairs
- Yard clean-ups
Social Support
Social Support can be offered in the home or in an alternative setting. Volunteers or paid staffs act as a companion to help meet social needs or to assist with accessing community life.
Transport - Bookings Essential
Valmar Support Services Inc provide a quality door to door service to eligible clients to local and regional areas. Wheelchair access is available.
