Mundawadra/Soldier Settlement Estate
Council considered a letter from a member of the Mundawadra Soldier Settlement Committee advising that the 50th Anniversary of the Soldier Settlement Estate is to be celebrated in January 2010 with a reunion of family and relatives to commemorate this event which was part of the original of the Mundawadra Pastoral Run. The Soldier Settlement Estate does have some considerable historical significance as it was the last Second World War Soldier Settlement Estate established in New South Wales. The organising Committee advised Council of the activities which have been planned and Council has resolved to contribute $330.00 towards the costs of a bronze memorial plaque which will be located in the original area of the settlement.
